Publish your XING Job Ads in four easy steps. Learn all the details in this article.
You can create new job ads in the following areas:

On the XING Jobs account one dashboard: Click on ´Create XING job ad´ (1).

In the category ´Job Ads´: Create a job ad by clicking on ´Create job ad´ (2).
You can also create new job ads from active or inactive job ads:
- Use job ads as a template: You can use both active and inactive job ads as templates for new job ads. To do this, click on the three dots in the corresponding category and then on ´Use as template´. All data will be transferred and can then be edited.
- Extend inactive job ads: You can also extend inactive job ads. In this case, the same job ad will be published.
1. Job ad details
Enter all the information about your vacancy in this section.
Autofill your vacancy
Import data from job ads
Do you already have active or inactive job ads or drafts saved? Automatically transfer all data from these existing job ads.
To do this, click in the search bar and enter the first letters of the desired job title. The existing job ads are displayed in a list. Select the appropriate job ad here and the data will be transferred for the steps ´Job ad details´ and ´Job description´.

Please note that any data already entered will be overwritten. You will notified by a pop-up-message.
If you want to import the data, click on ´Yes, replace´. If you want to keep the data, click on ´Cancel´. In this case, the data will not be taken over.

After the data has been imported, you will see on the right-hand side from which job ad the data has been transferred.
Import data from a file or via link
Automatically fill your job ads by importing data from any of the following sources:
- Upload a PDF or Word document with the requirements and details. To do this, click in the ´Autofill your vacancy´ section (1) on ´Import data´ (2) > ´Upload files´ (3), select the desired document and save your selection (4).
- You can also import the data from another job ad by inserting the link of the job ad. To do this, click click in the ´Autofill your vacancy´ section (1) on ´Import data´ (2), insert the link in the ´Link to job ad´ field (3), start the import with the ´Import´ button (4) and save your selection (5).
Basic information
- Job title (1): Give your job ad a title. Once you've typed three characters into the field, you'll see recommendations for job titles. These are based on data from our XING network.
- Position type (2): Select the position type from the drop-down list.
- Seniority (3): Select from the drop-down list how much work experience is required for each job.
- Discipline (4): Select the discipline from the drop-down list.
- Relevant work experience (5): Select the number of years from the drop-down list.
- Remote work options (6): Do you offer home office? Select the desired option from the drop-down list. Enabling this option will give you the following benefits:
- Better visibility on XING under ´Jobs where you can work remotely´ (within the section ´Find jobs the smart way´)
- Job search engines, such as Google for Jobs, will read this information and display it in their search results. - Company (7): Enter the name of the company.
- Industry (8): Select the relevant industry from the list.
- Street (optional), Postcode and City (9): Enter the place of employment, including the postcode.
Skills
Specify here the skills and experience you want the candidate to have. Based on the basic information, such as job title, we will recommend the skills that match your job. If you want to use the skills we suggest, click on the plus sign next to the desired skill to add it to the list (1).
If you want to specify another skill, add it manually under ´Skills´ > ´Add skill´ (2).
Did you select the wrong skill? Click on ´X´ (3) to remove it from the list.

Salary
If desired, define the minimum and maximum value of the possible salary range including the currency by moving the slider with the mouse. If you click on the point next to the slider, you can also move it using the arrow keys on your keyboard. The salary range is given in thousand euro increments.
If you do not specify your own salary range, a salary forecast will be displayed. In this case, move the slider at ´Display your company´s salary range´ to the left to ´No´.
How should people apply?
In this section, select how you want candidates to apply:
- Via Instant Apply: In this case, the application of your candidates will be displayed directly in the candidate list. As soon as an application is received, you will receive a notification in your account.
- Via online form: If you choose this option, candidates will be redirected to the application form on your website. In this case, please provide the exact link to your application form (1). Click on ´Preview´ (2) to check if the inserted link leads to the correct page.
Please note that with this application type your candidates will not be displayed in your account.
Contact person (optional)
Optionally, enter the person that candidates can contact with questions: yourself or someone else.
If you have filled in everything, then go on with ´Next step´ (1) to edit your job ad. Your draft will be saved automatically.
Would you like to interrupt the creation of the job ad? Save your draft by clicking on the ´Save as draft´ button (2). Your job ad is now saved under ´Drafts´ and can be edited at any time.
2. Job description
Design your customized job ads in this area. You will be supported by 9 fields, which are displayed as an overview on the right side. With the help of this checklist you can check if you have filled in all fields.
AI assistant
Our AI assistant creates the text for your job ads based on the criteria you specify, such as job ad details or tone. This not only saves you time, but also allows you to further optimize your texts.
The following data from your job ad details will be displayed in the first row:
- Job title
- Company
- City
Now define the following criteria so that AI can create the most suitable job description for you:
- Language
- Tone
- Sie- or Du (for German job descriptions only)
- Gendered forms (for German job descriptions only)
AI will now create the text for the following areas:
- ´Company description´
- ´Tasks and responsibilities´
- ´Profile requirements´
- ´Employee benefits´
While AI is creating the text for you, you will see the following message.
The text will then appear in the above mentioned areas.
Would you like to refine the text? You can use AI to further refine each of the four areas independently. To do this, click ´Edit with AI´ in the area you want, and select one of the following options:
- Improve readability: This option optimizes readability by simplifying language, improving sentence structure and organizing content in a way that is easy to understand. For example, by using simpler words, headings, lists or shortened sentences.
- Tailor to job role: This option improves readability, engages the reader with dynamic language and guarantees a refined version of the original text. For example, job-related words are used and additional information is added for better understanding (based on the job details).
- Reduce content: This option simplifies the description by compressing the text while preserving the essential information. For example, by deleting filler words or using clear terms.
- Rephrase & refine: This option refines the wording, adds relevant details and provides clarity while retaining the original meaning and tone.
The suggestion from the AI assistant will appear on top of your original text. You can use this text (1), discard it (2), or copy and paste parts of it into your job description. Please note that if you use the text in full, your original text will be overwritten.
Image
Insert your title image here by clicking on ´Upload image´ (1). Now upload the image via the ´Click to upload´ button (2) or drag and drop it directly onto the gray area (3).

- Size: 1020 x 400px
- Maximum file size: 5 MB
Do you want to change the image? First click on the pencil icon (1) and then on ´Change image´ (2). You can permanently delete the image by clicking on the trash icon (3).
Text fields
Describe the open position as precisely as possible. The following text fields are available for this purpose:
- Company description (required field): What does your company offer? What is the corporate culture like? Describe your company in this section.
- Tasks and responsibilities (required field): List the responsibilities that are part of the job.
- Job requirements (required field): In this field, describe the requirements that your candidates must meet.
- Employee benefits: List here all the benefits your company offers.
- Additional contact details: Enter here the person whom applicants can contact in case of queries.

There are 2000 characters available for your text per area.
Please note that your text must have a minimum length of 20 characters.

With the standard design options (1), such as text formatting, lists, links, you can further customize your ad.
Also don't forget to customize the heading (2) of these five areas (max. 50 characters). If needed, you can also customize the color of the headings. To do this, you will find the ´Heading´ function (3) on the right-hand side. Either click on the desired color in the color selector (4) or specify the HEX value (5). Then click on ´Apply´ (6) to apply your choice.
Please note that the selected color will be applied to all headings.
Additional image
Do you want to upload another image to your job ad besides the title image? In this area you have the possibility to do so by clicking on ´Upload image´ (1) and either embed the image via the ´Click to upload´ button (2) or drag and drop it directly onto the gray area (3).

Do you want to change the image? First click on the pencil icon (1) and then on ´Change image´ (2). You can permanently delete the image by clicking on the trash icon (3).
Promotional video of your company
Include the link to your company video in the job ad to give interested people even more insight into everyday life. Paste the link in the appropriate field (1) and click ´Upload file´ (2) to embed the link in the job ad.
Supported formats: YouTube, Vimeo
Do you want to change the video? Delete the old link, paste the new one and click the pencil icon (3). You can also permanently delete the video by clicking the trash icon (4).
Social media links
Link your company's social media channels in your job ad. Click on ´Add social media´ (1) and copy the link into the line next to the corresponding social media channel (2). The following channels are available to you:
- Company website
- kununu
- YouTube
- TikTok
If you want to change your information, click on ´Edit links´ (3).
Preview
Would you like to preview your job ad after you have completed all the fields? Click on ´Preview´ to see what the main sections will look like when you publish your job ad on XING.
Are you satisfied with the job ad? So click on ´Next step´ to plan the publication in the next step.
3. Job ad type
Now select the desired job ad type from the product table by clicking on ´Select´ (1).
Do you want to change the selected job ad type? Then remove it by clicking on ´Remove´ on the left side (2). Once you have made your selection, go to the last step by clicking ´Next step´ (3).
Do you need more job offers? Click on ´Compare packages´ (4) to buy more ads.
4. Confirmation
In the last step you will see a summary:
- Job ad overview (1): Here you will see the title and location as well as the selected ad type, the duration and end date of the job ad.
Would you like to customize your job ads again? So click on ´View´ (2).
Would you like to change the job posting type? In that case click on ´Edit´ (3). - Available job ads (4): In this section you will see the number of available job ads in the respective package minus the currently purchased ad.
Once everything is ready, click on ´Publish now´ (5) to put your job ad online.
