Using images and videos will help you build an interesting and attractive employer branding profile. Read our recommendations on the different image and video formats in this article.

Header

An impressive and appealing header is part of a well-rounded first impression.

• Ideal ratio: 16:9

The cover images you upload will be used by us to show you on different devices, with different screen sizes, as well as at different locations within XING to represent you. Of course, we mainly use the header on your company profiles.

On a large screen, this is done in a ratio of 8:2. For smaller screens, like your smartphone, we cut off a few pixels each on the right and left, so that we end up with an aspect ratio of 5:2. Otherwise, you would see only a very narrow header image on your smartphone, which would be unfavorable for its display.

We recommend that you do not choose a white background image. Also, using fonts and logos within an image often proves difficult, especially in terms of displaying well on different screen sizes. Therefore, to display your slogan or logo in the best possible way, explicit components are available within the page header.

Company logo

We recommend providing the company logo as an image in a ratio of 1:1 (e. g. 300 x 300 pixels / 32 px).

Please note that your logo will be displayed in a shape (superellipse). This shape is a XING standard for displaying logos and profile pictures. Therefore, consider a distance to the edge when preparing the image. For an image of 300x300 px, for example, this is 32 px.

We use your logo within XING as a distinctive feature to represent your company (e.g. in a post). Please keep in mind that this logo is used in many different sizes. For this reason, pay special attention to readability.

We offer a cropping tool when you upload the image to fine-tune the size.

Videos

Videos can be uploaded directly to XING.

Thumbnail

You can add a thumbnail for the video under "Edit galary / Add video". Otherwise an image will be generated.

• Ideal ratio: 16:9
• Image size: min. 1280x720 px

Subtitle

You can add subtitles to your video. To do this, upload a suitable WebVTT or SRT file.
